When does it work well, and when doesn't it?

Automated invoice processing works best when you see the same suppliers repeatedly. After a few invoices from the same party, the system learns the layout, the right account code, and the VAT category, and gets faster and more reliable over time. It works less well when you have many rotating suppliers, highly variable amounts, or lots of handwritten receipts.
